WINTER 2011
CHAIRMAN’S CHAT
As my first year as chairman comes to an end I think of the year to come and what it will bring. The AGM will be on the 10th. January 2012 and I hope to see many of you there. Please note NOT all the areas of street parking around the hall are chargeable. There are areas which do allow free parking after 6pm. For summer outings this year we would appreciate suggestions for places you would like to visit. It is getting very costly for coach hire and cancellations can incur a fee. See elsewhere on information re Gardening Scotland.
The winter programme continues after the AGM with-two meetings and the Quiz night. I hope you can attend some of them. The Spring Show will be held in the Victorian Corridor at the Winter Gardens on 3lst. March and 1st. April 20l2. You are very welcome to come along as a visitor, helper or exhibitor and entry to this event is free.
I wish you all a good gardening year in 2012.
Terry Stott
Chairman

DO YOU WANT TO VISIT GARDENING SCOTLAND
Many of you will know that we have run a coach to Gardening Scotland each year for a good number of years. Last year we only just covered the cost of the trip by using some free entry tickets given to the team who put together our pallet garden and planter competition entries. However, we can't rely on having spare tickets every year.
We need to cover the cost of the coach and entry, so we are asking you NOW to let us know if you are interested in going. If we don't get the commitment at this stage we will NOT run the trip. To be sure our costs are covered we must charge £32 per head for the coach and entry. Yes, with the increases in fuel costs, coach hire costs have gone up substantially!
We can't promise you good weather but we can be sure of an interesting show, with lots to see and do. If you are interested in coming, please confirm at the AGM, email Wendy on wendy@suttar.com or phone her on 07595 046563.
We need the commitment now otherwise we will not run the coach.
